How often are we late for breakfast? If you live in my house, more often than not. So sometimes it is good to have a recipe for breakfast on the run. I think a healthy and nutrition smoothie fits the bill exactly.

So, here is a tasty smoothie your family can enjoy in no time and you can still have a clear conscience that you have sent them away with a healthy breakfast! If you have a blender such as one of the KitchenAid 5 Speed Blenders with Polycarbonate Jars or a Cuisinart CBT 700 Die Cast 700 Watt Blender, you will make this smoothie in no time.

Breakfast Oats and Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 banana, broken into pieces
  • 12 frozen strawberries
  • 1 tsp honey

Method:

  1. Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
  2. You may wish to cut the strawberries in half before you add them, or use mashed strawberries.
  3. Serve immediately while smoothies are still frothy.

Well, there you have a bowl of oatmeal in a glass! The frozen strawberries ensure that the smoothie is thick and you can, of course, substitute the soy milk with milk. Depending on your preference your can use full cream of fat free milk.
